ABOUT

Anup Kulthe’s journey is a testament to passion, precision, and perseverance. A classical violinist dedicated to his craft, Anup's musical journey began under the guidance of Shri. Shirish Upadhye at Upadhye Violin Vadan Vidyalaya in 2009. Originally on a path in mechanical engineering, Anup discovered his true calling in music. With the unwavering support of his family, he transitioned seamlessly, earning both a bachelor's and master's degree in music.

Anup's talent has been celebrated with numerous prestigious awards, including top honors at the Sangeet Bhushan Pt. Ram Marathe Smruti Sangeet Spardha and the Akashwani Sangeet Spardha. He has been recognized with the Pandit Ram Marathe Puraskar and scholarships from the National Centre of Performing Arts (N.C.P.A.) and the ITC-Sangeet Research Academy.

Anup has composed background music for the acclaimed Marathi film 'Shyam Chi Aai' and has performed at prestigious venues like Mumbai's N.C.P.A. and events like Jashne-Rekhta in Delhi. He is a graded performing artist at All India Radio with eight solo recordings aired by the national broadcaster.

In addition to his musical prowess, Anup is also a skilled violin restorer. Under the guidance of Shri K. P. Bhave, he has spent the past five years mastering the art of violin restoration. His unique understanding of instrument construction and tone production allows him to execute precise adjustments, ensuring each violin attains the desired tonal qualities.

Anup is committed to preserving and advancing the craft of violin restoration, from restoring centuries-old German violins to refining the latest models. His dedication to both performing and restoration ensures the enduring legacy of these exquisite instruments continues to flourish.
